From a chance encounter on Inner Circle to building a life (and soon-to-be family) together, Charlie and Floris' story is a true 'written in the stars' hit with a heady dose of nostalgia.
Amsterdam couple Charlie and Floris met on Inner Circle in 2021
When Charlie opened Inner Circle on Floris' profile, she was drawn to a playful photo of him sticking out his tongue. "I liked it because it showed he didn’t take life too seriously," she recalls. Floris, on the other hand, felt a rush of nostalgia. "We used to be neighbours as kids, and seeing her profile sparked an immediate interest in reconnecting as adults."
Floris planned a memorable first date, starting with cake and champagne at Westerpark to celebrate Charlie’s new job and newly born nephew. They then went on a city walking tour by Tassie, a local brand, turning a two-hour walk into a five-hour adventure filled with stories and hidden gems. The day ended with an Ajax football match, and the connection was so strong that they continued their date at the beach the next day.
Their love for travel has taken them to Paris, Lisbon, Mexico, Thailand, and beyond. A favourite close-to-home escape is Mantinge, a village in Drenthe where they disconnect and enjoy nature. Their recent baby-moon in Thailand was particularly special, offering them a chance to dream about their next chapter. "Looking at the pictures, it's pretty obvious what's next for us,"
Charlie says with a smile. Floris adds, "I can't wait to see Charlie as a mother, and I'm looking forward to all the adventures ahead."
Regardless of their six year age gap, Charlie and Floris couldn't have known how similar their lifestyles as adults would turn out to be.
"Going out together or partying at festivals always brings us closer," Floris shares. They share a passion for dancing and festivals, which has always sparked joy and connection. This active social life is balanced with their mutual love for cozy nights in, watching their favourite shows.
Charlie and Floris' Fridays are spontaneous, filled with friends, wine, and pizza. Their Saturdays start with a visit to Noordermarkt and a workout, followed by relaxed plans with friends. Wrapping up their weekend, Sundays are for cleaning, watching sports, and recharging for the week ahead.
Although mirrored in lifestyle preferences, their personal fashion style makes them differ in a complementary way. Charlie's fashion inspiration comes from Hailey Bieber's elegant style and Lizzy van der Ligt's colorful flair. Floris prefers a simplistic and durable style, favouring brands like Dickies and Carhartt.
As they prepare for the arrival of their baby girl, excitement fills their home. "We are each other's best friends and soulmates," Charlie shares. Floris adds, "Our relationship has brought our families closer, reconnecting old bonds."
Through Inner Circle, they found more than love; they discovered a partnership rooted in shared lifestyles and family circles.
