About Inner Circle
Back in 2012, our founder David Vermeulen found himself back on the dating scene after ending a long-term relationship at 35. Looking at his options to meet someone new, he turned to online dating, an industry that was quickly gaining momentum.
But what David discovered were websites with thousands of random, anonymous and untrustworthy profiles. How could he make a connection with ‘twinklestar29’?
Frustrated with what was on offer, Inner Circle was created from the belief that for online dating to work, there needed to be a safe space that was focussed on quality, not quantity. A space where you could meet people who enjoyed the same things as you and would help you build your community.
11 years later, with no funding capital or investment, Inner Circle has grown to a community of over 6 million members with quality and authenticity at its heart.

Resident Dating Expert
Crystal knows good dating. From how to navigate modern behaviours like ghosting and groundhogging, to how to turn around a date that’s going terribly, Crystal marries her personal experience with insider knowledge to help people date better. She’s featured on Metro, Huffington Post, Stylist, Cosmopolitan, Mashable, Independent, Grazia, Marie Claire and many more.

David Vermeulen
Founder
David Vermeulen founded Inner Circle in 2012 after coming out of a long-term relationship. He found online dating websites untrustworthy with fake profiles and photos. In an ever evolving digital world, he believed that online dating was the future so he wanted to bring people an app that focused on the quality of matches.
David regularly speaks to the media on the future of the dating industry and his journey creating Inner Circle
Michael Krayenhoff
Co-founder & COO
Michael Krayenhoff is co-founder and COO of Inner Circle. Prior to this, Michael worked for a consultancy in Singapore. He studied Industrial Engineering and Management in The Netherlands, followed by an MSc in Entrepreneurship at Royal Holloway University of London.
He oversees the day to day running of the business and can wax lyrical about the data and science behind the app.
