CITY GUIDE - AMSTERDAM OOST/ZUID

As the city moves at its usual pace, we’re finding our escapes where we can. Hortus Botanicus is our go-to oasis, with yoga classes among the rare plants offering a moment of calmness. When it’s time for something more indulgent, our members are slipping into Café Garçon for an evening that feels straight out of Paris. These are the spots where we’re finding our balance.

Hortus Botanicus - Oost:

Nestled in Amsterdam's bustling center, Hortus Botanicus offers an unexpected oasis. One of the world's oldest botanical gardens is the home to rare plants and their palm house. Here, amidst tropical foliage, visitors can join yoga classes - a serene experience in an already tranquil setting. The old greenhouse and butterfly house add to the charm, making Hortus a unique blend of history, nature, and urban escape.

Café Garçon - Zuid

In a corner of Amsterdam Oud-Zuid, Café Garçon whispers of Parisian nights. Candlelight flickers across the tablecloths, illuminating plates of seared coquilles and bowls brimming with moules frites. The gentle clink of wine glasses mingles with soft conversation. Whether nestled inside, amid tapestried walls, or lounging on the terrace, people find themselves transported, if only for an evening, to the heart of France.

Pansy - Oost

At Pansy, the sight of colorful glazes lined up on the shelves sets the tone as you choose your ceramic pieces. Drinks and snacks are served, keeping hands busy while colors take shape. After the session, the painted ceramics are left to be fired and are ready for pickup. The studio offers a space where creativity flows and brushstrokes bring ideas to life.

Wijngaard De Amsteltuin gives a new meaning to "high wine". Tables nestled between the vines create intimate spaces for people to enjoy a selection of the vineyard's wines paired with thoughtful bites. The setting evokes a sense of being abroad, with the staff's knowledge enhancing the experience. As the afternoon unfolds, conversation flows as easily as the wine.
