Kingsday: Our Favourite parties

King’s Day is all about celebration, and the spontaneous moments that come with it. We’ve got you covered with a roundup of the best (free) parties in Amsterdam, Utrecht, and Rotterdam.

Amsterdam

Go for a proper old-school street party along the Brouwersgracht at King Loesoe, where the atmosphere feels effortlessly local. Prefer something more open? Head to the NDSM Werf and dance by the water at Pllek, with food trucks, sunshine and space to move.

If the Jordaan is more your scene, you’ll never go wrong dancing through the streets at the Elandsgracht festival hosted by ELA Restobar. Or go all in at the Kingsday Block Party at Radio Radio. And if you’re not ready to stop, just stay for the after.

Utrecht

During Kingsday, the whole city turns into one big outdoor festival (free entrance), so it’s all about choosing your square. You can ease into the day with disco classics at Domplein, where the vibe stays light and social.

Looking for more energy? BEAT-RIX at Janskerkhof brings a faster pace and a crowd that’s there to dance. Or keep it central and lively at Neude, where the city gathers for a bigger, more buzzing atmosphere that carries you through the day.

Rotterdam

Rotterdam keeps things varied. 2 free entrance options we recommend: settle in with Silbar x Nort Nort for a mix of local DJs, tacos and cocktails in a more curated setting. If you’re after something more open, Noordplein delivers a lively crowd and all-day energy.

For those who want to go bigger, join the XL Blockparty byYarnbird + Radio Tornado with disco, house, Afro, and hiphop to show off your best moves.
